Georgiana Cavendish grew up in
Suffolk, southeast England.
After an alternative education at
democratically run free school, Summer Hill Georgiana found her commitment to
dance. She trained in ballet and contemporary dance at the Rambert School in
London graduating in 2007.
Since then, she has been creating
work and dancing for choreographers such as, Rosie Kay, Frauke Requardt and
Young Min Cho. Her own work has been shown in the UK and Europe, notably
at the Royal Opera House’s Linbury Theatre and Robin Howard Dance Theatre in
London.
Having grown up within a musical
family, Georgiana is also a singer and vocalist. Her main musical interests lie
in improvisation and collaboration. She has pursued this interest as a musician
and performer for collaborative bands The Artful Badger and New Opera Hero. Georgiana
has also worked as a musician at contact improvisation and music festivals. She
regularly co writes and performs with her sister Bess Cavendish.
Georgiana’s work has led her to
live and work in the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, New York and India. Her
curiosity and interests have continued her independent studies in dance, somatic
work, improvisation, contact improvisation and music in these places.
